Gabe is an owner and the current President of Berger Briggs. Gabe joined Berger Briggs after years of experience as an adjuster in the insurance industry. Gabe graduated from New Mexico State in 1988 with a Finance Degree. Gabe furthered his insurance education by gaining his Certified Insurance Counselor Designation in 1996 and has used his expertise of the industry to create strong relationships with his clients by advising them of the risks they may be susceptible to in their industry. Gabe’s expertise helps him minimize his client’s risks by creating the best possible insurance programs for them and their companies. Outside of business Gabe enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Kaelan is an owner and Vice President of Berger Briggs. Kaelan was born and raised in Albuquerque and has had experience in both underwriting and the agent side of the insurance industry. He worked for two separate insurance companies before joining Berger Briggs, gaining underwriting knowledge that now has helped him become a better and more proficient agent for mid-size to large businesses and organizations. Kaelan graduated from Regis University in Denver, Colorado with a degree in Finance and Marketing and played on the basketball team. Kaelan has used his education and underwriting background to help better advise his local and national clients of the ever changing insurance industry. Outside of work Kaelan enjoys being with his wife, son, dog and family and being as active as possible.
Ryan is a current owner and Vice President of Berger Briggs. Ryan graduated from Regis University in Denver in 2010 where he majored in Business with an emphasis in Finance and Management and played on the University Soccer Team. After Graduating Ryan moved back to Albuquerque where he was born and raised to work at Berger Briggs as a Commercial Insurance Producer. Ryan has a long record of successfully guiding both local and national clients with all of their commercial insurance and risk management needs by offering trusted advice with the client’s needs always coming first. Ryan specializes in applying his expertise and insurance marketplace knowledge to provide large to mid-size business with the appropriate products and coverages to make sure to protect his client’s businesses.
Fred was a second generation owner of Berger Briggs and currently serves as an advisor/consultant for the agency. Through Fred’s leadership, Berger Briggs grew substantially into one of the leading insurance agencies in the state of New Mexico. Fred’s willingness to go the extra mile for his clients and his company helped guide Berger Briggs to great success under his guidance and ownership. Fred attended the University of New Mexico, graduating with a Finance degree. In 1984 Fred received his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Designation strengthening his knowledge and advising in the insurance industry. Fred was named the Independent Insurance Agents of New Mexico Chair from 2004-2005 and served on the Board of Directors of IIANM from 1998-2006. Outside of business Fred enjoys spending his time with his wife, family, and golfing.
Will was an owner of Berger Briggs until the recent sale to the new ownership back in July of 2018. Will now serves as a consultant and advisor for Berger Briggs, still working with his clients and advising new ones as well. Will received a BA from John Hopkins University in May of 1972, and started working in insurance department at Berger Briggs in December of that year. He attended the USF&G Home Office School for Agents in 1974. Will has been a valued advisor to all his clients for many years and continues to guide them in the right direction. Will was the past chair of Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities, the Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activities, and continues to be involved with the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe for over 20 years.
Sherry started her insurance career working for State Farm in 1969. She began working for Berger Briggs in June of 1979 and has been here ever since. Sherry started in personal lines as a customer service representative and then moved up to Personal Lines Manager. She takes the time to get to know her clients and their needs and works hard to fit the proper coverages with the best possible price.
Pam Muzzi has over 40 years experience in the insurance industry with a diverse background in commercial accounts both large and small. She has now been with Berger Briggs for 10 years and is motivated and driven by overcoming the challenges that our industry faces by helping clients find the insurance coverages they need. When Pam isn’t serving the insurance industry, she enjoys golfing, and more than anything, loves spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kathy Yeager has been an insurance professional for over 30 years. She started her career in 1984 in California working at a managing general agency as a personal lines underwriter. In 1994, Kathy joined an independent insurance agency in Southern New Mexico and became a commercial lines producer and eventually had a dual role as the office manager. After 22 years in Southern New Mexico, Kathy made the decision to move to Albuquerque to join Berger Briggs as the office manager and a commercial insurance producer. She enjoys problem-solving for clients and employees, which is one of the reasons she really enjoys working in the insurance industry. Kathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Eastern New Mexico University. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
Brian O’Malley is a life-long resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brian graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1983. Brian began his insurance career shortly after in 1985 and studied hard to become a Certified Insurance Counselor in 1989. Since then Brian has continued to work hard to serve the insurance industry to the best of his abilities and has had great success in doing so.
John Hansen is a Commercial Insurance Producer with Berger Briggs. John is a Certified Insurance Counselor and an insurance professional since 2003 specializing in various industry roles: Claims, Commercial Underwriting and Sales. John holds his CDL and was an independent owner/operator of a trucking company for 7 years, prior to that an Assistant Manager of a Grocery Store. John holds a BA in Business Management from Doane University. Outside of work, John enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and children.
Damon joined the Berger Briggs team in 2018, bringing an energetic and fun filled presence to not only the office, but to the industry. Damon has worked in various sales positions over the years, creating very strong connections with business owners all of the State of New Mexico. He values creating strong relationships with everyone he meets and that can be seen by the way people are naturally drawn to him. Damon is as good as an insurance advisor can come due to the fact that he truly cares about each and every one of his clients on a personal level. Outside of the office, Damon enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Samantha, and helping instruct youth soccer.
Frank Melendez is the head of Berger Briggs’ Employee Benefits Division. Frank graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. From there Frank worked at Travelers and The Hartford in the Employee Benefits Department becoming the Albuquerque Assistant Office Manager, until he left to work for QSP for five years as a territory manager selling and setting up fundraising programs for non-profit organizations for five years. Upon his leave from QSP, Frank left to work a year for Presbyterian Health Plan, brokering group health products with Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers throughout the state of New Mexico. Frank then started at Berger Briggs in 1987 and has been here ever since. He manages Berger Briggs’ Employee Benefits division and sells group health, dental, and ancillary products, in addition to individual life, disability, long term and health products to various clients throughout New Mexico.
Carol Pinnell is a personal lines insurance professional with Berger Briggs Real Estate and Insurance, Inc. She has over 25 years’ experience and finds that working with an independent agency provides her the opportunity to offer multiple choices to her clients in order to best meet their needs. Carol began her insurance career as a Customer Service Representative with a new State Farm agency in Albuquerque, NM. Carol obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor Designation, Property & Casualty license, and Life & Health license growing her skills and working with a wide variety of clients. In 2016, Carol joined Berger Briggs team as a Personal Lines Producer. Carol is a native New Mexican and lives in Albuquerque, with her husband Bill and cat Spooky.
Ryan Myers is an Employee Benefits agent and has years of experience helping clients in different industry settings. He works hard to make sure that they have everything they need, and brings that tireless work ethic to the insurance industry. He is a driven individual that loves a challenge, and takes great pride in solving any issues that his clients have and building lasting relationships with them. Outside of work, Ryan spends his time coaching high school basketball and playing sports with his friends and brothers.
Melissa’s insurance career started with State Farm where she worked alongside her family running the agency for 10 plus years. The next chapter was with Federated Insurance specializing in Commercial niche markets. Melissa was very happy to begin working with Berger Briggs in September 2004. Melissa is licensed in multiple states including Texas & the greater Southwest Region and takes pride in developing client relationships & forming a personalized insurance package to fit their needs.
